EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – United Caring Services’ cold storage room has been remodeled.

The repairs to the room were a part of Jaclyn Hohne’s Girl Scout Gold Award Project.

Throughout her years as a scout, Jaclyn has volunteered and even did her Bronze Award project at UCS.

She noticed United Caring Services was having to throw out food due to its inefficient cold storage room, so she decided to lend a helping hand.

Jaclyn others in the community will also do the same.

“You can’t see these sort of problems from the surface,” she says. “And so going to your local organizations and asking them what they need help with, can sometimes bring unforeseen projects like this one. So I think that that’s a really impactful thing that the community can do.“

The entire project took about one year as Jaclyn gathered donations and help from the community and even her own family.
