2017 Update: HMRP News

In 2016, 37 men stayed a total of 758 days finding the support they need to properly rest and recuperate. Thanks to the Homeless Medical Respite Program (HMRP) local hospitals have saved over $1,000,000 in 2016 had services been provided. In 2016, 87% of our HMRP guests were safely discharged with 57% of them gaining permanent housing. Both of these numbers are up 15% from 2015. These recuperative opportunities and safe discharges, will keep them in better health moving forward. The total cost for HMRP at UCS, for men and women, is $160,000 a year. This program expense is partially covered by flat fees and per diems from referral agencies with additional individual, business, and foundation support making up most of the difference.
